Michigan’s online casino market posted $305.8 million in revenue for May 2026, according to data released by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB). The figure represents a 21.6% increase over the $251.5 million recorded in May 2025 and ranks as the state’s third-highest monthly iGaming total behind only March 2026 ($322.1 million) and December 2025 ($315.8 million).
Three Consecutive Months Above $300 Million
May completed Michigan’s third consecutive month with iGaming revenue exceeding $300 million โ a milestone that underscores how firmly the state’s regulated market has matured since its 2021 launch. Sports betting added to the overall picture, with combined online gaming and sports wagering reaching $382.5 million for the month, the strongest combined figure of the year to date, according to Bettors Insider.
Tax revenue from online gambling reached $64.2 million in May, the vast majority of which โ $61.5 million โ came from iGaming products such as online slots, video poker, baccarat, and live dealer games.
bet365’s First Full Month Makes an Immediate Impact
One notable contributor to May’s strong performance was bet365 Casino, which completed its first full month of operation in Michigan after launching in April 2026 under the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians licence. The operator posted $11.1 million in casino revenue for May, immediately establishing itself as a meaningful new competitor in what is already the country’s most competitive regulated iGaming market.
Michigan now has 15 legal online casino operators, making it the most densely contested regulated state in the US.
What This Means for Players
Sustained revenue growth tends to attract more operators and, with them, more competitive bonus offers and a wider game library. The market’s continued expansion also generates tax revenue earmarked for the state’s School Aid Fund and First Responder Presumed Coverage Fund. Michigan players should expect new operator entries and promotional activity to remain strong through the remainder of 2026.
